The new Ambassador of Spain presents his credentials to the Queen Elizabeth II
London, 28 October (EFE). The new Ambassador of Spain to the United Kingdom, Carles Casajuana i Palet, presented his credentials to Queen Elizabeth II today in a ceremony in Buckingham Palace, the Official residence of the British Royal Family.
Holding a degree in Economics and Law (University of Barcelona), Casajuana entered the Spanish Diplomatic Service in 1980; he was posted that same year to the Spanish Embassy in Bolivia.
After his posting in the Philippines (1982-84) and the Spanish Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York (1987-1991), Casajuana was chief of Staff to the Secretary General for Foreign Policy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1991-96).
He was the Spanish Ambassador in Malaysia, Vietnam and Brunei before his appointment as Ambassador Representative of Spain to the Political and Security Committee of the European Union (2001-2004).
Casajuana was Senior Diplomatic Adviser to the Spanish Prime Minister between 2004 and 2008.
He resumed his post as Ambassador of Spain to the United Kingdom in August 2008. EFE.
